Managed to do 7 dives whilst away in Granada, it was incredible. The Diving was awesome the sculpture park is unique, The wrecks beautiful and the reefs magical. The real stand out though, as some who has close to 100 Dives on 3 continents, were the team. Genuine, friendly, passionate and serious Divers, with extensive knowledge of both Diving and the island with detailed briefings and interesting facts about the island and its extensive history. The importance of safety at the forefront coupled with relaxed and comfortable feel of a holiday made for the most calming and magical experience! If you are looking to dive on this stunning island DIVE HERE! Thank you to Britt, Jay, Julie, Jane Jamil for probably the best SCUBA diving experience to date!!! ~ Adam C

I did a snorkel trip with SWI and was pleasantly surprised with how fun it was. The reef was nice and the sculptures were better than I anticipated. So I booked a morning trip for two dives. The first was on the wreck Veronica which was really great. A very easy shallow wreck (deepest part was about 50 feet) with lots of coral and sea life. Saw my first sea horse which was a highlight. Next was a drift dive over a reef. We saw a few barracuda, a sleepy nurse shark, lots of tropical fish, a puffer, lobster, and so much more. I'd reccomend Scuba West Indies for these reasons above but even moreso for the friendliness, professionalism, and skill of the staff and boat Captain Jane. I'd argue this lot is tough to beat for such a trip. You can book with confidence. ~ Dugald M

I have nothing but positive things to say. What an incredible team running an independent dive shop. I did a snorkel trip and completed my open water diving course (with no previous dive experience). Britt, my instructor has the patience of a saint and got me through it. It was the most incredible experience and I am so so grateful to them all and especially Britt for supporting and teaching me with such compassion and kindness. I’m already planing my next trip to come back. The dive sites are breathtaking and I cannot wait to explore more. The whole team are so knowledgeable. We learned so much about the local areas, the history, the conservation work and the wildlife. It was so impressive. Went scuba diving with my wife during our honeymoon, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jane and Julie were very professional and made sure we got the most out of our two dives. Going over the basics in the sea one on one was very helpful before doing the real dive. Before the dive, Jane and Julia showed us the variety of fish that we could see on the dives, gave us some history on the dive sites and some information on the island as we went past. During the dive they made sure we both were equalising as we went down to avoid discomfort. As we went around the reef, they both pointed out key fish and coral to look out for, which was very helpful. Managed to see a wide variety of species. 10/10 experience; would recommend to everyone. We need a 6th star rating for *exceptional*! We loved every minute! We were five divers, diving several times a day across five days, with five different levels, and ages from 27 to 70. Julie, Jane, Britt, Jay & Jamil are a terrific operation: lots of personal attention to each of us. Each outing was a different experience - the sculptures, the wreck, the night dive, the various reefs and their unique offerings-- all seen at a smooth, chill pace. Each dive was preceded by exemplary attention to safety and a fun briefing. The team are not just skilled and careful but engaging, funny, clearly love what they do, and dedicated to sharing the love of it all. **And don't forget Mai Tai the mascot-cat. ~ Diana C

Had a great time getting Open Water certification at Scuba West Indies last week! From the very start, the shop was responsive to inquiries and clearly excited about having us there! Brittney's obvious heart as a teacher and her infectious love of diving was a great combination! She made the complex super easy! And, after feeling a bit ill on the morning of the first day, she voluntarily gave up her afternoon to get me caught back up with my daughter so that we could complete the rest of the program together. I am so thankful for that! We dived in some spectacular locations, and we got to hang out with really passionate owners, instructors, and captains. It was a great experience! This is how diving should be done: Very competent crew and owners, customer oriented from A to Z, best guide-divers ratio I had in 11 years of diving and a great spirit in and out of the water. Dives were amazing with guides pointing out small (shrimps, juvenile fish, nudibranchs) and big marine life (nurse sharks, crabs, barracuda…). Drift dives, wreck dives, beautiful reefs full of all sorts of coral. Dive shop is equipped with shower and restrooms. Situated literally one step from a very scenic beach where you can swim and hang out after the dives! Snacks, water and iced tea were provided during surface intervals. As well as loads of information on the island. Planned ten dives. Did sixteen. Pretty much sums it up. Thanks to Julie and Jane and all the team at Scuba West Indies. We LOVE Grenada for the people as much as for the island. My husband and I have been diving there for several years. Julie, Jane and crew (Jamil and Johnny top notch dive masters and captains) are an amazing group who make diving there a pure joy! It's boutique diving at its finest!! We have so much fun but safety is paramount with them. From reef to wreck dives they make sure to look for and point out God's underwater beauty. On our recent trip we saw HUGE lobsters down to tiny shrimp. On one dive alone we saw three very large rays. If you're looking for an island and diving that will welcome you with open arms it's Grenada and Scuba West Indies! We already booked our trip for next January!! ~ Linda V

A fantastic experience diving with Scuba West Indies. Coming from someone who thought they’d never be brave enough the team are all so professional, kind and ooze enthusiasm for their profession and take safety very seriously. Jane, Julie, Britt and Jay are all super engaging. After a morning snorkelling with Jay I watched my husband dive and suddenly had an urge to face my fears and try. Britt was my Dive Instructor and really put me at ease with the first intro and subsequent dive for 50 mins. I held her hand as we glided around the tropical aquarium of wonderful fish and wondered why I hadn’t done before. Confidence comes when you have a huge sense of belief in the person teaching you. Britt thank you for putting a big tick in my box and finally doing it and your unwavering calm and confidence. I highly recommend West Indies Scuba and we will be back 🙌🙌 ~ Emma O

We recently completed our open water scuba certification with the incredible crew at Scuba West Indies. We would like to thank the entire crew, with a particular appreciation for our extraordinary head instructor Jane, and her amazing assistant Ash. Their knowledge and attention to detail are literally second to none. They introduced us to the most amazing dive sites, and enthusiastically pointed out the incredible marine life as they provided us with such detailed instruction, making us feel incredibly confident and comfortable. We were incredibly impressed with the quality and care of the equipment. We chose the Calabash Hotel specifically because of the amazing access to Scuba West Indies. Spent a week with the marvelous team at SWI. Our daughter, aged 12, could not have been taught by a finer instructor than Britt -- she was born to teach diving and helped my daughter get her open water certification! I worked mostly with Jay to gain my skills back after a 2 year layoff from diving. He was fantastic both as a divemaster and to talk to during our surface intervals. Jamil worked with my wife, who had an even longer layoff from diving (nearly 10 yrs!). Jamil was very patient and kind, giving my wife ample time to reaccclimate. After a week of diving beautiful sites like Purple Rain, Veronica L, Flamingo Bay & Sculpture Park we could not have been more pleased. The operation is super focused on safety and felt much more intimate and private than a larger commercial dive operator. Perfect for our family. We had an unforgettable experience with Scuba West Indies – Diving Grenada today, and I want to give a special shoutout to Julie, who made my daughter’s very first dive absolutely perfect. Julie was patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging—she created a calm and safe environment that helped my daughter feel confident and excited from the moment they got in the water. I won’t lie, I was so anxious to go diving but my instructor Britt made me feel incredibly at ease. She took me out into the shallow bay the day before to get used to breathing underwater before letting us practice using the fins. The next day we went out to flamingo bay and the sculpture park. Me and my boyfriend were terrible at controlling our descent the first dive but Britt was there to literally hold our hands and by the second dive we felt like masters. She showed us so many fish and our fears just melted away. I always thought diving would be a one time thing for me because of my anxieties but this experience was so amazing I would return in a heartbeat. ~ Gemma P

We had an INCREDIBLE experience Diving with this awesome company. Firstly they took my daughter & boyfriend expertly from complete novices to enjoy an experience of Scuba Diving in one day. And for my husband, other daughter & myself we went on an awesome Reef Dive & spectacular Wreck Dive. The guys work incredibly hard to give you the most professional experience ever. They are true experts who work seamlessly in a caring & tight knit team. They truly care passionately about their work, the ocean and your enjoyment of diving. We highly recommend ScubaTech in Grenada!! My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting the owners Julie and Jane on our anniversary and we went out on their boat for a sunset ride. They provided Prosecco and charcuterie and told us about the area. We lucked out with weather and saw a gorgeous sunset! Julie and Jane are amazing and we had a great time! The very next day I joined them again for snorkelling. I wanted to see the underwater statue park. We left at 8am and got back at noon. The whole team was amazing! They helped me get my gear on, as well as in and out of the water. We saw lots of fish and coral at Flamingo Bat our first stop, and then we were off to see the statues. They were very cool to see. What an amazing snorkeling experience - the best we’ve ever had! My husband and I are on our honeymoon in Grenada and booked the trip to snorkel at the underwater sculpture park & Flamingo Bay. From minute one booking with Jane, we felt relaxed and excited. Britt met us on the dock in the morning to talk us through logistics and was super friendly during our send-off. Jamil captained the boat smoothly to each site, where Ashyim gave us some amazing inside details about the sculpture park and the marine life in Flamingo Bay. This made our experience that much more meaningful. Ashyim captured some amazing moments with an underwater camera, which we will treasure! From start to finish, we just had an amazing time. We felt safe while exploring and much more knowledgeable about the areas we were exploring too. A HUGE thank you to the whole Scuba West Indies team for an incredible experience. Thoroughly recommend this company for a dive. We were on a cruise and Jane was very helpful in advising how we could get to them & then after the dive they dropped us back at the ship. Communication was fantastic meaning on the day we just had to turn up and try gear on. On the day of the dive we sadly had a lot of rain meaning the sculpture park had poor visibility so instead we were taken to a shipwreck with Jay and Jamil. Jay was a fantastic dive leader. Everyone who works here was very friendly. We saw plenty of fish and a rather large barracuda. There is also a beach snack bar down the road for lunch and their food was phenomenal. ~ Chel H

Last year I wrote about visiting Scuba West Indies - Grenada by chance and being talked into trying the Discover Scuba diving program; this year, I returned with the intent to complete my Open Water Diving certification--and succeeded! Many, many thanks to the wonderful team of Jane, Julie, Britt, Jay, and Jamil! I earned my Open Water diving certification under their expert teaching, and felt entirely safe and comfortable the whole time! The dive sites were gorgeous and full of life, and worth every second! Britt also assisted in find a taxi to their location. Jay and Britt work well with each customer. Polite, encouraging and respectful support for me as I struggled with the mask clearing. We went diving for three days with ScubaTech while we were in Grenada. We plan on diving with them again if we return. The new owners were on two of our trips with us and they were very nice and attentive. I had an equalization issue on one of our dives and one of the owners, Jules, noticed and attempted to help me with it. Unfortunately, I was unable to clear it, so she went up and stayed with me on the boat until our next dive and stayed with me on the way down to ensure my ears were good, so I could enjoy the dive. Great experience with the new owners, the crew, and the beautiful dive locations. ~ Randon K
